To many people, life is beautiful, and yet agonizingly chaotic and confusing. We are constantly overloaded with thoughts and bombarded with decisions to make, clouding out what really matters to us. To see through the fog, and enjoy a more joyous and peaceful life, there are 3 key aspects which we can all learn to embrace – Intentional Living, Simplify Your Life, and Living In The Present Moment.
Intentional Living, a concept coined out of Stoicism philosophy, promulgates that our actions should be deliberate and based on our values and moral compass. It seeks to first understand the Why in our choices. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, but it is how we respond to them and the choices that we make that define the lives that we live.
Simplify Your Life is a key element to a peaceful mind. On the surface, a simplified life reduces our decision fatigue, but more importantly, a more minimalistic and decluttered lifestyle frees us from our material attachments, allowing us to focus on the more important things in our lives.
Living In The Present Moment is arguably the most important aspect of leading a peaceful lifestyle. Too often, we live either in the past or the future, and forget that it is only the Present that matters. The past cannot be unwritten, and the future is unknown. The only thing that matters is right now, and being rooted in the Present is the key to attaining stillness and clarity in our lives.
Taking the first step towards incorporating these elements into your lives is always daunting, but surprisingly easy. All it takes is you plucking up the courage to want to do it, step by step. If there is anything that recent years have taught us, it is that life can be short – don’t let things that don’t matter consume us. Learn more below.
